THE FUNGE

I started playing guitar at the age of 14 just as the Punk revolution really got going. I was influenced by the Clash for a while then I was introduced to Jazz. This had a real effect on my listening habits and I started to collect jazz albums. I especially like Brazillian Jazz and folk music. This has changed how I went about writing songs with strange progressions and textures.

With the arrival of new innovative software I was able play piano and sax (albeit on the keyboard) to accompany the guitar. I had to think like a pianist or a drummer so that I might get a certain 'realism' to the parts. I spend most of my time now just recording ideas and I've been busy at FJam - a music collaborating website, working with some talented people. I hope you enjoy my music!
