No, you don't need to set up an account with them. Listeners without an account can go through the Paypal Checkout too in a couple of minutes. You will of course get a Paypal receipt for your donation.

Is donating via Paypal safe?
Paypal has over 100 million customers and is Verisign secured. It allows any business or consumer with an email address to securely, conveniently and cost-effectively send and receive payments online. Donating via Paypal is both safe and secure using high levels of encryption. You can now use PayPal for shopping with Dell, Barnes and Noble, iTunes, Starbucks, Buy.com and Walgreens.

How do you manage to give 100% of donations to charity while other websites only give a percentage?
Sound Aid is run by volunteers who spend their own personal time running this site. We believe in curing world hunger without taking anything for ourselves.

How much money has Sound Aid raised?
You can see the amounts raised by visiting the Donations Page.

Why did you choose Heifer International as the charity you donate to?
Heifer International allow the means for people to feed themselves through livestock, training and people skills rather than handouts. We believe this is the long term way to solve world hunger.

At the bottom of each artist page is a link to download the album.

How big are the albums?
The average album is around 30MBs in size. If you like a particular song you will need to download the whole album. On broadband this should take a couple of minutes. If you are on dialup and only want one song send a quick email to admin@soundaid.org and we will email you the song!

I cannot see the MP3 player on the artist pages.
You need to have a Flash Player Installed.

The MP3 playback keeps getting stuck/wont start.
For dialup users you may experience this as the files are streamed at high quality. If your player does not buffer the song very well, then click pause and wait for more of the song to be downloaded before resuming. If you cannot see an mp3 player, then you need to download Flash

ARTIST QUESTIONS

How do I sign up to Sound Aid?
Please fill in the online form.

What is an EP?
An "Extended Play" CD is just a term used for an album with fewer tracks(3-6 tracks or 15-25 minutes of music).

I want to change my tracklisting / update my tracks / remove my tracks.
As an artist you can do all of these things by emailing admin@soundaid.org.

I no longer want my music on Sound Aid.
You can take your band page off at any time by emailing admin@soundaid.org. There is no minimum period that you must remain on the site.

What are the Sound Aid compilation albums?
These are compiled every few months to offer the best of Sound Aid from that period. It will comprise of 10 tracks and will be available for a $8 donation.

What is the minumim number of songs I can donate?
3

Can I donate more than 6 songs?
Yes, you can as long as your total EP track time does not exceed 25 minutes.

Why do you not offer full albums for download?
We thought hard about this and decided that many unsigned artists do not have a full album's worth of material. Only allowing an EP (half an album) does 2 things: It allows the listener to hear the best of experienced artists tracks, and also allows newer artists a better chance of getting a Sound Aid page, since they only need 3-6 tracks.

If I can't donate a full album can I have 2 EPs instead?
Yes you can!
