AMY DIXON-KOLAR

I grew up around music - folk, opera, jazz, classical, and even some rock. Those influences all left their mark, though I've found my home in the folk genre. I've played the guitar for over 30 years, and also have been known to pick up a fiddle, mandolin, bodhran, and bowed psaltry once in a while.

My songs are about life as I see it - my experiences, the stories of those around me - some whom I know and some I've never met. I draw from the traditional, celtic, old time, bluegrass and contemporary musical styles. The songs in this collection all have personal meaning for me - family, friends, the world that has affected me. I hope you find meaning in them as well.
